Fundamentals of Lighting Workshops

Join us for an introductory course in lighting. In four Saturdays, we will become familiar with lighting terminology, understand the relationship of light, vision and color; differentiate characteristics of most common light sources and ballasts; discuss the various types of luminaires and controls offered today. In the second half of the course, we will understand how to interpret a photometric report and use this information for lighting calculations; gain insights into the specifics of interior and exterior lighting design; and discuss current lighting issues such as codes, standards, sustainability, lighting economics and the effects of lighting on health.

This course qualifies for 16 IES CEU’s and AIA-LU’s.  For further questions please contact our education coordinator, Sonja Ferdows, or 303.641.6938.
